U.S. Cyber Command will conduct a focused internal defensive cyberspace activity during the month of October. 
CYBERCOM has identified this event as the International Coordinated Cyber Security Activity, INCCA. This activity will highlight and enhance CYBERCOM's readiness, interoperability, global cyber security posture, cooperation, and support for the Joint Force Commanders, interagency partners, and international partners.
"Cyberspace is an increasingly dynamic environment where malicious cyber actors attempt to exploit networks, data, and critical infrastructure the Joint Force relies upon," said U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Ryan Janovic, director of Operations J3, CYBERCOM.
Janovic added, that INCCA will further enhance cyberspace collaboration and improve information and insight sharing – ultimately improving the security and stability of our national networks, systems, and actions when countering malicious cyber activities.
Focusing distinctly on DoD networks and systems, CYBERCOM globally deployed defensive cyber professionals to search for, identify, mitigate, and publicly share known malware and associated variations targeting DoD-network infrastructure. INCCA provides defensive cyber teams with an opportunity to improve processes, readiness, and coordination with our broader unified action partners.
If an operator identifies a potential threat, its associated information, insights, and tradecraft are shared with all partners. INCCA is intended to enhance our internal defensive measures and strengthen resiliency for the Department of Defense Information Networks and our partners. Our partnerships offer CYBERCOM an enduring advantage, ensuring our collective defensive capabilities are postured and ready.
“By synchronizing and sharing the activities occurring during INCCA, we help further our collective defense, enhance our capacity, and strengthen internal defensive measures with a community of partners,” Janovic said, “this will ultimately improve our unity of effort to defend against foreign malicious cyber threats.”
INCCA’s effort enables CYBERCOM and our partners to globally unify and collaborate on cyberspace activities collectively, enhance DoD cyberspace capabilities and integrating and bolster DoD's cyber expertise. Through INCCA, CYBERCOM remains vigilant and unrelenting in our obligation to OWN THE DOMAIN; while continuously improving the DoD's ability to operate resilient, reliable information and communication networks, counter cyberspace threats, and assure access to cyberspace.
