'Potential cyber security event' reported at Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wis. – WKOW

MADISON (WKOW) — Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin  (GHC-SCW) announced the health system experienced a “potential cyber security event” Wednesday evening.
A news release stated the January 24 event was “quickly identified.” GHC-SCW secured its IT systems that have internet access “in an abundance of caution.”
That action caused some services to go offline to members for an extended period of time, including GHCMyChart and telephone lines.
Some systems and services may be impacted as GHC-SCW continues to analyze the impacts of the event.
“Please bear with us as we work to reestablish normal operations,” the news release said.
GHC-SCW said it will be posting the latest updates on its social media.
